This and some of my older projects which no longer make it to my portfolio are published as blog posts.
As surfers, we know that checking the conditions of our favorite surf spots is crucial before paddling out. That's why we created Surfate – an iOS app that allowed users to view free live surf cams from all over the world with just a few taps.
Developed by @ppacie, Surfate was designed to be user-friendly and straightforward, with the main purpose of helping surfers stay up-to-date on the conditions of their local surf spots and discover new surf breaks. With Surfate, you could easily keep up with all the surf contests happening around the world and even explore surf spots you've never been to before.
Surfate was a personal project that got a bit out of hand, and we were thrilled to see that it was downloaded by thousands of surfers worldwide during its short life. The support we received from our users was overwhelming, and we're grateful for the positive feedback.
Unfortunately, we have had to take Surfate down from the app store. Nevertheless, we're proud of what we accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to provide surfers with a tool that they enjoyed using.
